This incredibly beautiful area is located in the western part of the Rio Negro, Neuquen
and Chubut provinces in Argentina and in the 10th and 11th Regions in Chile.
With the Andes Mountain Ranges running from North to South the Lake District is surrounded
by unique forests, volcanoes, lakes, rivers, falls and streams. Its geography is drawn
by ancient glaciers, the birth of new volcanoes, the water and wind erosion
and the millenary forests that stand until today.
The weather conditions here during the fishing season are dry with warm temperatures during
the day - up to 30º C or 88º F - and cold ones at night dropping even to 5º C or 44º F.
Flying into the Lake District is really easy as there are several daily flights from Buenos Aires
and Santiago de Chile taking no more than two hours.

The Southern part of Patagonia extends in Argentina from the South of Chubut to the Tierra del Fuego
province and in Chile from the South of the 11th to the 12th Region.
The Patagonian Andes are formed by a central range and several isolated smaller ones separated
by wide valleys crossed by hundreds of lakes and rivers.
Based on a more humid and cold weather the vegetation here is thicker and dense forests cover
the faces of the mountains. The temperatures are even colder than in the Lake District
and the best time to visit this area are the months from November to March.
The major airports in this area are the Rio Gallegos, Rio Grande, El Calafate and Ushuaia ones about 3 hours
and 30 minutes from Buenos Aires.
